At a loss at how this place is possibly one of the highest rated sushi restaurants in Vegas.
Let me first say that service was prompt, we were seated quickly at the bar, and I generally liked the sushi chef for his attentiveness. The only thing that we enjoyed was the sashimi salad recommended by the chef. The presentation was a train wreck, but the flavors were spot on and had a great amount of spice and kick to it. Edamame was decent too.
Now for the rest of the night...
Our miso soups tasted...odd. The tofu took on a rancid taste and the texture melted in your mouth (not in a good way). Nigiri after nigiri seemed very dried out and no amount of soy sauce could lather up the texture. Honestly, I've had better raw fish at conveyor belt sushi restaurants.
The chef recommended two different sushi rolls with one of them being the no name roll. Anything that was put in the roll was completely overpowered with a sauce that looked and tasted like creamy tostitos salsa. A very disappointing dish that is supposedly a favorite there that was also recommended by the chef. We finished with mochi which was nothing that really stood out to me.
I don't see the hype and it's astounding to me they are as popular as they are.
