Today for lunch I had the pleasure of re-visiting The Kings Kitchen and I have to admit that their service has improved dramatically. When I arrived the staff here really rolled out the red carpet! I was warmly greeted and seated quickly. I started off with the sweet potato fritters which were quite amazing they came out with a side of honey they were the perfect appetizer . For my entree I ordered the catfish that came with three sides. I've never had catfish before and didn't know what to expect but when it came out I was in heaven ! The catfish was fried perfectly it was light and crisp but not greasy and flavorful for my sides I choose the Mac and cheese, seared cabbage and the butter beans that came a side corn bread and a biscuit everything thing hands down was good. When you come here for lunch come with an appetite . Now last but not least one thing makes this place special from any other place . This restaurant is a non profit that donates all of its proceeds and opens it's doors in the afternoon to feed the less fortunate in Charlotte! I had the pleasure of witnessing this first hand and it was beautiful to see the non profit in action. So if your looking for a great meal please support this place. Not only is the food fantastic but your contributing to a great cause. Eating out never tasted so good :)
