| - Stylist: Jacqueline
Service: long curly cut
Goals: shape and remove damaged ends
I love this salon. I visited last week for a long curly cut (dry cut, wash, style and tweak) and I was very happy with the results. Before going in, my hair was waist length, but most of it was very damaged (I even had weird straight bits in the middle of my hair). After the cut, my hair reaches about bust length.
My goals with this cut were mainly shape and healthy ends. Now after the cut, my stylist Jacqueline styled my hair quite different to how I normally would. I prefer definition and little volume, and after the cut my hair was BIG, but I actually liked it. For the most part, my ends are amazing (instead of weird wavy bits, they look like springs) but I did notice that with some of the layering, it was cut to the middle (where the weird straight section is) so the ends were still straight. That being said, with every cut you can come back within a week for touch ups (free of charge), so that's exactly what I did. The second time I went in, I had my hair styled the way I usually would, and brought a picture of exactly what I wanted. Jacqueline was really nice and let me explain the look I was hoping to achieve. Now, my hair is so perfect I can't stop looking at it and taking selfies.
As far as price, this salon is on the pricier side, but I think it's just a reflection of the quality products they use and the fact that the stylists are all deva certified.
The space itself is really nice. I dragged my boyfriend along and he was just loving the free coffee, wifi and the comfy couch in the waiting area. Everything was really clean and they offered to take our jackets when we arrived.
Overall, this was an amazing experience and I will definitely be going back. 10/10 would recommend.
Tips:
- know exactly what you want. Bring pictures and don't be afraid to speak up
- Be very clear about how much length you are okay with being cut
- I would recommend the dry curly cut since you can see exactly what your hair will look like styled the way you like it
