  • Had an amazing night last night having the privilege of seeing David Byrne (Talking Heads) in his utopia tour. The sound in this place is always well produced and mixed but last night I admit it was a bit muddy. Regardless, the MAC is just the perfect venue. It's well directed (people everywhere helping you) and well serviced. It's clean, beautiful, artistic, and well designed. The parking - cake and cheap. The bar and drinks are high-end, well poured, and you can bring them into the theatre. The inside theatre itself is stunning and I caught myself just looking up and around at times. Bathrooms are spotless and never crowded. A place like this can anchor a whole community and you can already see the impact in the stores and shops around it. It feels safe, clean, and classy. I can't imagine the cost of a place like this nor how it was funded - I probably don't want to know. I will say that regardless the cost, it is spectacular and a perfect place to see a show.
