  • Do not ever pay in advance here! They offer a small amount off if you pay in full when first starting services, they estimate how much everything would cost after insurance and charge you that. I thought this would save us money but it did the opposite! I had two prior babies who came at 37 weeks, and had been having contractions all third trimester. At 35 weeks I pleaded to my midwife that I thought I was going into early labor, I was so stressed I wouldn't make their cut off of 36 weeks and 6 days and thought it was effecting my pregnancy but all they did was give me their doula line in case I went into labor too soon and had to go to the hospital. I have a hard time in hospitals and didn't just spend my whole pregnancy with these midwives, at this center only to be directed elsewhere in my time of needing support. After going through options my yoga instructor who is also a doula suggested I come up with a couple backup plans. I chose a different hospital and reached out to a midwife I had previously considered transferring care to. After meeting with her again, I felt very comfortable, listened to and found the encouragement I had been looking for my whole pregnancy, so I decided she would be my first choice and transferred care. Fortunately, this was the best decision I could have made and I went on to have an amazing birth experience surrounded by love. In a couple months it will have been a year and they have yet to reconcile my account. I have a great insurance that covers almost all of my prenatal care; I didn't take their courses or received anything else because I already took them with a previous child. I have never received clear answers as to what the holdup is, I've spoken to my insurance and had them comb through my claims and they didn't find a single thing from the birth center or under any midwife or staff names. Yet, I've been told multiple things when I've called like, everything was done and I would be receiving a check soon, or there's just one thing they need to process or input differently or someone else just needs to sign off on it and to call again in a couple days. Things are always pending someone else to do something. Is someone not doing their job? They have time for all these cheeky videos but no time to process my reconciliation?! This would have been my second birth there, my previous experience wasn't that great either. I ended up birthing with a midwife, doula and nurse who were all complete strangers. The photos I was told they would take came out in potato quality and I just received printed copies from the pharmacy. The only reason I was content with that birth and returned was because of my husband's support and my confidence in birthing since it wasn't my first time. Their midwife and staff turnaround is ridiculous and I've spoken to past families and staff who refuse to refer them. I wish I could come on here and give them a great review and have chosen to not review them poorly for a long time because they seem nice and I'm a passive/not a bad review type of person, I was hoping that they would do right but with the amount of transfers they have I can't imagine how many other families have lost money or are still waiting like I am. Nice just isn't good enough, I'd like the money I paid to birth in their out-of-network facility that I didn't end up using returned, we work hard for our money and it should go to my kids' education, not to a lawyer to help with this, not in limbo or on their fresh florals and office snacks. *I hear they are good at having negative reviews removed, I can prove the validity of my review and will update if anything ever changes or if my account is ever reconciled. Update: Ten months after I transferred care I received a check for $93.60. I paid in full to birth with them, to receive quality care and birth in their birth center which I didn't receive either one. However they justify it, my family lost out on this money because I did the very thing they advocate to do which is find maternity care that feels supportive and you are comfortable with. They are in the business of making money, not birth. I urge everyone to follow their gut when choosing a provider and not be fooled by what they advertise or the façade they put on.
