  • I ate here on April 1, 2017 with 15 other people in an ethnic dining MeetUp. I also ate here last fall, the day after having a bad dinner at Villa Peru. Villa Peru wanted to charge me for the very bland Chupe de Camarones Soup, that I wanted to send back to trade for something else, even though I only ate a few spoonfuls of the broth. I never had any restaurant force me to pay for what I did not like and wanted to send back and trade for something else, in my life, and I am 20 years older than I look! I went to Villa Peru 2 years ago, and also did not like my food, neither did other people at my table, to the point that they still had to pay for their wasted dish, AND pay for a side of "safe french fries" just because they were so hungry. But I was open to giving Villa Peru another chance. I Yelped Villa Peru 1 star because of bland, expensive, skimpy food, and scathing service. The first time I ate at El Chullo, was the day after the Villa Peru fiasco, I ate the cerviche. But the fish in both the Villa Peru and El Chullo, was very bland, boring, and flavorless. It tasted like they just added the lime juice marinate to the fish the moment before bringing the fish to my table. So I took it home, and four days later, the lime permeated the fish, and it tasted delicious! But I did not Yelp El Chullo based on the one-time bland and boring fish in their cerviche, only. I wanted to give El Chullo another chance, which i did when I ate with these 15 other people on April 1. I tasted so many dishes, including cerviche second chance. Very bland and boring, I mean the flavor of the fish. I like my own homemade cerviche the best. The steak was flavorful and good portion, but very gristley and full of oingy boingies not polite to spit out.
