| - First, I'd like to thank Ivana, Steve, and Zeb for all their help with buying a new 2016 Rogue. I appreciated their professionalism, courtesy, friendliness, and respect they bestowed upon me and my family. We even told them that we would come back next year to buy a car for my dad.
My poor review reflects solely on my horrible experience with Rahul (sales manager).
I was told to come on Tues at 1pm to pick up the car. My mom and I both took a half day off from work and were very excited at the thought of taking home a new vehicle. However, upon arrival, we found strange white marks (wouldn't rub off without using a chemical compound) and minor scratches all over the body and windows. There was thick layer of dirt stuck in all the window trims and door wells. We even found a paint chip that went down to the bare metal (the size of my pinky nail) on the hood! I questioned if this was even a new car or used? Steve apologized and arranged for the car to be detailed. He also said that he would compensate us for the inconvenience.
We were told to come back on Sat. To our dismay, we found MORE issues. There were still a few white marks left and NEW scratch marks were found on the hood and trunk, and sticky glue smeared all over the door handle. I also saw lots of dirt chunks stuck INSIDE the tail lights. I couldn't believe it! I bought a brand new car, expecting it to be in brand new condition. It is now my second time here and there are still issues! At this point, we had spent 4 hours at the dealer. Steve said that he'll give me floor mats. I also asked for a free oil change as well.
Up to this point, the sales staff were understanding of my frustration and treated me with respect. I was willing to overlook everything since Steve seemed like he was willing to provide me with the appropriate customer service to make me happy.
Everything went downhill from here. Rahul came out and asked us how everything was. I explained the situation calmly and asked if he can give me floor mats and servicing to compensate. He came at us guns blazing and said "You're not getting anything for free on the car! No floor mats, and absolutely no oil change!" He was completely rude and unsympathetic. We tried to reason with him saying that (1) my mom and I both took a half day off (unpaid) from work on Tuesday just to leave empty handed and disappointed, (2) the car had issues BOTH times we tried to pick it up and is still not perfect, (3) we wasted HOURS at the dealership waiting around, and (4) Steve promised us the floor mats already. Rahul still refused to back down and started ARGUING with us saying things like "the car is up to Nissan's standards", "we sold the car to you at a good price already". He even gave us an ultimatum, saying "This is all you get. There's absolutely nothing else I'm going to give to you. What are you going to do?" We were shocked at his rudeness and asked him if this is how he treats his customers. He responded "It's only $100 floor mats. If you purchase the floor mats, I'll give you a discount." At this point, I told him it's no longer about the money - it's about the principle. He then said in a VERY SARCASTIC and DEMEANING way "Fine, if you're going to make this a big deal, I'll just buy the floor mats out my own pocket and give it to you. It's only $100." My family and I were SO OFFENDED! Was he trying to make me seem cheap or rub salt in the wounds? What manager talks like that to a customer who just bought a new car (with VISIBLE issues) and who indicated a few days earlier that they were willing to come back and purchase a car next year? Does he think we'll be repeat customers?!
On a separate note, I'm still skeptical about the state of my car. It feels somewhat used. There's barely a 'new car' smell, we also found a dark red stain (like dried blood) on the roof fabric, and why was there dirt in the tail lights? I'm going directly to Nissan Canada because I'm scared to deal with Rahul and don't want to be attacked by him again.
I've told everyone about my HORRIBLE experience with Rahul. They will NOT be going to 401 Dixie Nissan in the future.
