| - A fun, unique concept and a great atmosphere. Came here on a Friday night with a group of four. Although it was busy, we were able to grab a table, no problem. We enjoyed trying a few different wines (especially the local ones, which were delicious), and sharing a couple of cheese boards as well. Get the aged cheddar - everyone's favorite!
My friend noted the fact that the self-serve concept makes you feel less rushed and awkward. You can linger as long as you want without feeling bad for having the waiter come check on you and expect you to order more. It has almost a coffee shop vibe to it -- grab a drink, relax and enjoy your company with conversation and maybe a board game.
The only thing I didn't like about the place was the price. One-ounce tastings are about $2-3 each, a half glass is around $5-6, and a full glass is $9+. If you want to taste a few different wines, this adds up FAST, especially since you're just swiping your card each time without really thinking about the total. I had 3 tastings and a half glass (so barely even one full glass of wine) and I think that cost me about $15+. It's nice to try several good-quality local wines, but it's certainly not economical. They do have happy hour, so I'll have to come back and try it then to save a few bucks.
Overall, this was definitely a fun place that I would like to come back to, and I'm glad to have it added to the downtown scene!
