  • Enjoyed our weekend at this lovely hotel! The service from our hearty greeting by the valet attendants to the informative and friendly front desk staff gave us a taste of what we experienced the entire weekend! As an example, as I was getting my morning coffee at the Starbucks cafe located in the hotel, I asked for a glass of orange juice. The barista explained that this was available at the cafe, a manager overhearing this immediately stepped up and said, "I will get you an orange juice, ma'am" and promptly provided me with a complimentary orange juice in a "to go" cup. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner, beautifully presented and served by a truly profession waiter, at the Statehouse restaurant overlooking Lake Mendota. The Hotel is within walking distance of everything that we wanted to see -- Monona Terrace, the Capitol, State Street,and the UW Campus. Our room (very roomy, comfortable, nicely decorated) had a terrific view of the lake and all of the activity happening there... skating, cross-country skiing, ice fishing etc. We are looking forward to returning to the Edgewater -- hopefully in the summer time so we can enjoy the outdoor amenities as well.
