  • The only reason I went to Elegant Smile was because my insurance changed. I had spent the previous 10 years at another dentist who routinely cleaned my teeth twice a year and did x-rays once a year. Today was my first day visiting Elegant Smile. They did my X-rays and the Hygienist came in and said I need a cleaning. I said, great lets do it. They said on your first visit it is Xrays only. Thought that was odd but okay. When I went to make an appointment so I could get my cleaning they said it would cost $105. I said I have insurance and they said the type of cleaning they wanted to do isn't covered by insurance. I told them I wanted a cleaning that was covered by my insurance. If I wanted to pay cash for my cleanings I would just go to my old dentist that doesn't take my new insurance. They said to do the cleaning on my insurance I needed to do this cleaning first. I asked to talk to the Dentist Dr. Stephanie Susman but she would not come talk to me about it. So I said thanks and left. Looking at my insurance coverage Prophylaxis(Cleaning) Adult - Cost is $5 with insurance. $77 without insurance. Please note I am in my 30's and have never had a cavity or anything major with my mouth other then braces.
