| - Back in October, my boyfriend and I were in an accident that sent his beloved 2012 VW Golf to the big car heaven in the sky.
For six commiserating long weeks, we dealt with insurance companies, adjustors, and a whole whack of other inconveniences that come with totalling your car - including the hunt for a new vehicle.
Some months prior to the accident, we had become enamoured with the VW Atlas. Something about its sleek body, features and passenger capacity had us day dreaming about it. One day, we parked beside one who happened to have its occupants still inside of the vehicle. My boyfriend decided to ask the driver what his thoughts were about it - after singing the vehicle nothing but praises, he was kind enough to share with us his contact and his dealership of choice - Owasco Volkswagen.
With the pass on of information, we shook our heads and decided we were crazy to be looking at buying another vehicle with a looming mortgage on the way. The universe had other plans for us clearly, and low and behold - we found ourselves car shopping a few months later.
My boyfriend spent a few days emailing back and forth with various Volkswagen dealerships, planning test drivers and obtaining quotes. After finally test driving the Atlas, we found it to be a whole lot of car for us right now - however, the newest Tiguan shared many similarities to the Atlas, but a much smaller version of it.
Out of the many sales people we met with, Margot at Owasco was a memorable individual. Pleasant, kind and with the customers focus in mind, we became enamoured with her very quickly.
Whitby seemed like such a commute but after experiencing what we felt were incredibly lacklustre experiences locally, we finally decided to go visit Margot who had been nothing but accommodating and flexible up until that point. (And about as far away from a pushy sales person, ever.)
Set on the Tiguan, we were ready to make a deal. Margot kept our needs in her mind at all time, and really did go above and beyond to get us the best deal possible on the truck.
As we opted to go with a made to order line of the Tiguan, so it was 5 months of sharing my Hyundai between two adults with busy work schedules and social lives. (FWP)
Finally, though - it was pick up day. Margot was so kind to throw in car mats for the truck free of charge, and when we sat with Kelly, the Financial Services Manager, we were pleased when she informed us that the interest rate had dropped saving us plenty more money.
Margot sat in the vehicle with us and showed us all of the great features the truck had to offer and shared with us her absolute joy of having the opportunity to work with us. (She really is perhaps one of the most optimistic people I've ever met.)
We are so honoured to be apart of the Owasco VW family and we look forward to someday trading in the Hyundai for the Atlas. Thanks for taking such great care of us, Margot. You are an absolute gem!
