  • I've been wanting to try Benjamin's for a while now, and I had the chance to suggest it when I had dinner with friends last Friday. It was a nice day and we were lucky enough to snag the last outdoor table which was great. The place was pretty packed but not so bad that one would feel uncomfortable though it was getting more crowded by the time we left around 8:00 PM or so. We go there in time for the tail end of happy hour plus they had their sangria on special, so I ordered that and we ordered the pretzels appetizer which was half off and which came with their candied jalapeno cream cheese and truffle mustard. The pretzels were warm and soft but the star of the dish was the jalapeno cream cheese. It was so good that I saved the little remaining bit to have with my burger. The mustard that came with the dish was also great, but we were all clamoring for the jalapeno cream cheese, which made me wish that I'd ordered the burger that comes with it, but I will do that next time. For our burgers 2 of us got the veggie burger which was honestly close to the best veggie burger that I've ever had in my life. I will definitely go back there. I got the Buffalo Blue burger with the veggie patty and overall, the sauce must have gotten soaked into the veggie burger because it was completely dry and hardly there so and had very little buffalo sauce flavor, I was happy that I still had some of the jalapeno cream cheese, but the burger itself was tasty. My friend got the Goat Cheese and apple veggie burger and really liked it though she felt that the amount of shredded apple on top was excessive (it was) and took at least half of it off. Her husband got the fancy pants with beef burger and he enjoyed it. My friend and I got the broccoli salad as our side dish and while it was okay I felt like the broccoli was way overcooked to the point where it was kind of too mushy so I really didn't enjoy that. My friends husband got the potato salad as his side, and said that it was fine, but nothing great. So, overall we really did enjoy our burgers and appetizer and will definitely go back, but we may try different side dishes and options the next time and maybe it will hit 5 stars.
