I love the location- the brick streets ! Parking might be a bit of toughie but I got some in less than 5 mins on a Sunday evening . There are a few Thai options in that area and we picked Thai spoon as it had the most number of reviews .
The Place wasn't crowded at all but definitely a lot of take out orders .
It's a typical small sized restaurant- nothing exceptional there. They have a decent menu - lots of options to choose from .
Now the food :
There has probably never been a bigger disappointment than the Tom Yum soup served at the Thai spoon :( I've had the Tom yum in Thailand and atleast a dozen other countries and also a lot here in NJ but never have I ever gotten a hot water bowl with chilies and mushroom and chicken - no taste other than the chili water and absolutely no consistency to the broth! Please please avoid at all cost - try only if you haven't had a Tom yum before .
The drunken noodles were nicely done - they got this one right !
The Thai red curry chicken had way too much coconut - you could feel the coconut powder in the gravy. And a little too sweet as well
So given that I have a lot of other well reviewed Thai restaurants to try out - will give Thai spoon a miss for some time to come .
