  • I don't get my hair cut often because I get super nervous trying new things. I found Cielo on yelp and decided to give them a try since they have great ratings. After searching on pinterest, I found a hairstyle/color that I wanted to try. When I went in for my appointment I was excited to see that my hairstylist had the exact same cut/color I was looking for. That day was just for my haircut because I wasn't sure if i wanted to go through with the color until I found out exactly how much it would cost. The color I wanted to do was black at the top, purple middle, and silver bottom. When I asked how much it would be, she told me it would be $120 since my hair is short (I had an A-line cut above my shoulders). I thought that was a really good deal since I was told it would take several bleaching processes to get it light enough to do the color I wanted. So I made an appointment that day and a couple days later had my hair bleached. I paid the $150 ($120 for service plus 25% tip) and thought "okay, I guess I make the whole payment upfront." A week later when I came in to bleach my hair again, she was confused and asked what I came in for... After I explained that I came back to continue the coloring process for my hair, she told me that I would have to pay another $120 because each bleaching process is $120. Then it was my turn to be confused because now she's saying something different than before. So if it was $120 each time I was going to get my hair bleached, by the time I got the color I wanted it would be $400+ which I would never have even agreed to do. I felt so cheated and really upset because she made it seem like it was a misunderstanding. That first day I came in, I asked how much it would be to do the color I showed her on my phone. I didn't ask how much each bleaching process would be because I don't care about that. I only care about the final cost to get my hair that color. The way she was acting like she didn't know why I came in that day made it even more clear something shady was going on.. I had my hair bleached in order to get my hair closer to the color that I wanted. Did she think I changed my mind after getting my hair bleached?? If I knew it was $120 for bleaching my hair once, I would never have done it.. That is just ridiculous. My hair didn't even reach my shoulders and she only bleached the bottom half of it. Now I'm out $150 and left with a hair color that I don't care for. I really hope nothing like this happens to anyone else, my advice is if you are getting your hair colored and it takes a couple appointments, make sure you get the exact price in writing so you have proof later when they try to change it. The chase credit card I used has purchase protection so hopefully they will be able to get my money back.
