| - Ok, so I just bought a Lawrence Taylor signed jersey and had it framed as well thru Pristine Auction. They send the jersey to a different place for framing. I'm going to write what I feel is a balanced and fair review of Pristine Auction of what was positive and what was negative. First, the positive. The jersey was beautifully framed and looks very nice. I understood ahead of time it's not an "official" NFL jersey, but Lawrence Taylor signed it, so who cares. I don't question authenticity, because if you get a reputation for having fugazi signatures, you might as well call it a day. What does bother me alot is there is a "crease" above the left upper Giants insignia that is noticeable. I'm sorry, $240 is ALOT of money( just for framing only, not including the jersey price), and I expect PERFECTION for my hard earned money. Pristine (a little bit of irony there) you lose a star here. I feel this was done pre handing before reaching the carrier, as the glass (and backing) is fine. As far as customer service, it was decent thru phone calls/email, I can't complain. However Pristine, I'm going to give you some free advice/constructive criticism that will increase your ratings and sales, from the perspective of an average guy like me.
First of all, buying a framed jersey is a rare/uncommon purchase for me, kinda of a treat for myself. Therefore, I (as probably many of your customers do) have alot of anticipation for when the item arrives. I had to ask for a tracking number. Jared (I see you are the owner?) a tracking number should be a GIVEN. The process took a couple of weeks, but you have customers wondering if something happened to their order, and therefore get frustrated. People will be more understanding if they know what the status of their order is. I know this isn't McDonalds, and therefore was patient, but people need assurance. Also, the tracking number I was given was only until it reached the framer, than I had no idea how long it would take from there. At least an email that the frame had been completed and was on it's way would have been cool. Again, this is a decent amount of money for alot of people, so make them feel secure knowing what the status is, and you can curtail the concerns from customers saying it takes too long.
So to summarize, I see Pristine has alot of mixed reviews; I'm not a bandwagon guy and wanted to present a fair review. Not crazy about the crease, but the framer's did a nice job otherwise. PS Jared.............get a tracking system buddy! Customers are excited and waiting in anticipation over your specialty items and will feel better knowing where they are in the process, and even if it takes longer, they will be happier. You'll thank me later for it. Whoever reads this, thanks for your time and I hope it helps you out.
