  • We watched Beauty and the Beast at the Reynolds Hall in mid-April. I am so beyond impressed with this facility; LA should definitely take some notes! I love the parking lot. (Yes weird I know! But when you're from LA, where nearly everything involves your car, parking is serious business!) I love the fact that there is free self parking. That is unheard of! And the lot isn't somewhere far out in the boonies on dirt. It's on a nice pave lot and a short walk to Reynold's Hall (under 5 minutes and I'm a slow walker). Another thing I like about their parking lot is that there are multiple exits. So you don't have to rush out of the theater just to sit in traffic trying to exit the lot. The design of Reynolds Hall is very well thought out. Unlike other theaters I've been to, the layout is functional and effective. Having a seating area, bar, and restrooms for each section makes intermission so much more enjoyable! I was actually able to walk around and truly stretch my legs instead of standing in the long line for the ladies restroom. Instead of being packed like sardines, the separate area for each section gives you free space to walk and fresh area. Another thing I really like was the cup holders. Typically they are located in front of you, on the back of the chair of the person in front. The cup holders here are located between your seats. That's very smart considering that the space is very limited when someone is exiting the row and at the same time trying to avoid banging their knees/shin on those cup holders. The only improvement I would suggest would be to put some sort of netting on the other side of the railings. We had seats in the Gallery level (that's 4 floors up from the Orchestra / Main Floor). A woman sitting in the first row (due to clumsiness and/or too much alcohol consumption) tripped and her water bottle went flying over the railing and down... An object falling from such height seems very dangerous. With that being said, I hope we'll be able to catch another show next time we're in town!
