I'm deeply disappointed that I must write this review. However the community/nation needs to be aware of this disturbing policy about military discounts towards purchases.
My family was in need to make a major purchase of a refrigerator. After much research and soul searching we settled on purchasing another LG refrigerator even though we had issues with the LG parts department trying to get our refrigerator (under warranty) repaired.
This was during the Memorial Day week sales events and the refrigerator that we found was a "Special Buy" (discounted approx. 31%). Home Depot's policy is not to allow any military discount on these discounted items because they feel that it's "double dipping". However we went to Lowes and they do take 10% off for military.
For the record I did call the Home Depot Corporate Office and brought this to their attention but it didn't matter to them.
From where I sit as a former member of the Armed Forces it saddens me that The Home Depot showed me total disrespect.
In closing I can honestly say that Active Duty, Former, and Retired members of our military should simply go to Lowes if any merchandise is being sold as a special or discounted buy.
Please note that the exact same refrigerator at Lowes was almost the exact same discounted price. ($2 more).
