| - Ordered their macaron cake for my friend's bachlorette (but ended up using it as a birthday cake for one of the BMs instead)
The Macaron cake was pretty good, and you can choose what flavor of Macaron that end up topping the cake too. For this one, you are able to customize to the cake and buttercream, because they use the same cupcake batter for this cake. I went with the vanilla cake with lemon buttercream (which was great) and raspberry & cassis macarons. The cake was consumed a few days later, but it didn't taste stale. The buttercream was a bit hard, but that was probaby due to the refridgeration. I liked the fact that they do tell you how to store their products, if they know it isn't going to be consumed right away. It shows a care and a pride in what they do.
The service here was fantastic, however they are a bit difficult to get ahold of via phone or e-mail; at least that was my experience. You're better off stopping by the store. But they do get back to you, usually within 48 hours.
The space itself is pretty chic, and feels fairly girly. The right front of the store is devoted to dishing out Kawartha Diary Ice cream; while to the immediate back of it, a bookshelf display of their petit fours and special occassion cakes, completely with how they would package their products. Then to the opposite side of the store, where they sell cute cards, as well as their other offerings, like marshmallows and cookies.
The centre of the store is devoted to their pastries, like their famed macarons & cupcakes. They have one refridgerated display case; containing their generic cake offerings (these are display only, so ignore the cracks on the display cake; they won't sell that one to you), creme brulees; and fruit tarts.
