  • I was having severe pain and cramping in my lower back and down my left leg. An MRI concluded that a herniated disc was the cause of my problems. My orthopedist told me he could do the surgery to relieve the pressure off my nerves but could not do a fusion if needed. He referred me to Dr. Kabins for the needed surgery. I arrived at Dr. Kabins office that afternoon with the plan of an evaluation that day and surgery the next. Dr. Kabins looked at the MRI and X-ray his office had taken, asked me questions and within several minutes concluded that I needed surgery immediately. He cleared his plans for that evening and I was in surgery within 2 hours. He was very helpful to my wife and family as they were very concerned because of the rapidly escalating situation. After waking up from the surgery the pain was gone. I have cauda equine syndrome and have many parts of lower body that are far from normal, but because of Dr. Kabins quick reaction, I am recovering well. I will forever be grateful to him and his staff for the professional manner in which I was cared for. Any hesitation or delay of my surgery would have left me in a much worse condition. He is a master of his practice and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone having similar problems.
