  • As far as hotels go, this one is probably more 2 star for me. For service/staff however, I would give them 5 stars. I've never stayed in a hotel with such thin walls before. This isn't right off of the Strip but it's still close enough (and right next to the Convention Center/Monorail station) that you would assume when they built it/renovated it, they would have thought about that. I was there on a weekend with my parents (who are Marriott Platinum members) for a wedding. Normally I avoid Vegas on the weekends like the plague but didn't have a choice. We chose to go with the Renaissance since we're loyal to Marriott and since this property wasn't right on the Strip. When we got there, we were warmly greeted by their bellman who was working. I hate myself for not being able to remember his name because he was truly the best hotel staff member I've ever met. Funny, helpful, nice. He explained the entire property to us. The check-in staff was very nice also. Cut to our night in the room and that's where the problems started. We had super loud partying neighbors until 4 in the morning. We called security twice but I never heard them come up and address the problem once. Their fix the next morning was to have us move rooms. We were put on the Concierge Floor which was great because we were close to the lounge. However, the new room smelled like feet. It also only had a King bed so I ended up having to sleep on a roll away. Even in this room, you could hear your neighbors loud and clear even when they were just talking to each other. The next morning I was sitting down at their cafe that serves some of Starbucks' menu when a guy walked in that was very clearly on drugs. He took his phone and plugged it in to one of the outlets by the chairs along the wall. He wasn't bothering anyone at the time so I wasn't concerned at first. But when I went to sit down, another guy came in and the two of them started yelling and fighting with each other. The hotel isn't a super fantastic area so the hotel can only do so much in terms of preventing this type of thing but it took the staff a pretty long time to come and address it. The guy continued to try to come back in too. The Concierge Lounge was nice but overrun with people hoarding the food every night they were open. People literally taking 5+ bags of chips and three plates full of food. This is probably common at a lot of places but I've never seen anything like it at another Concierge Lounge. It's not a super big lounge either so there weren't a lot of seating options. The location next to the Monorail was convenient but I would for sure never stay here again. It wasn't the hotel's fault we had noisy neighbors but I didn't the way they handled it was sufficient at all. Security not coming up when we complained and then us having to move rooms. Even though it has a very young, modern look too, it attracts plenty of families and loud Vegas partiers so don't expect to actually be able to relax and sleep or sit by a quiet pool. During the week it might be quiet but it's anything but on the weekends. Loved the bell and check-in staff, just not a fan of the property at all.
