| - This hotel is a very mediocre hotel. It's fair old, and definitely needs a makeover. Well actually what has been made over could have easily been renovated by me, and I'm no pro! Well tonight I had to eat, and unfortunately I have no car or no easy way of getting around. For a November night it is quite cold, so I really didn't feel like walking very far. Basically I have two options. 1) Tim Hortons or 2) to eat the hotel Bar/Bistro. I choose the hotel, and every bite I took I was regretting my decision. The bar itself is fine, I had a Canadian dark beer and it was fine, actually I had a couple because it was pretty good. The food, my question to myself was...are you going to ask the bartender if its fresh. Basically, that's a dumb question because it is for sure not. The hotel is dead, nobody is at the bar, the food won't be fresh. I ordered chicken wings and sweet potato fries. If I had one thought for each of those dishes this is what it would be:
Wings - are these pigeon wings!! They're friggin tiny!
Fries - oh boy either these were cooked and frozen and recooked, or they were made fresh and not cooked long enough. Logically, some of them are still frozen.
I don't really know this area so unfortunately I can't tell you where to stay, but if you do stay here make sure you have a car so you can get some decent food for dinner.
The breakfast is decent, not real complaints there. Continental with meat and hashbrowns - who's gonna be that picky about breakfast!
