| - Unfortunately I should have followed my instincts when it comes to Auto Service. It was close by and it was certified so it would work with my warranty, unfortunately the first trip in was to fix the squeaky brakes, intermittent cruise control and HOT air-conditioning. Brakes work really well, (sort of) and the AC worked for 2 minutes and then during a 180 mile trip UP interstate 15 the back went right back to normal blowing hot air out of the back, and the counter TECHNICIAN asked my wife to bring it back for the cruise control because the advanced wiring tech was not available to do the diagnostic work. So when we brought the car back for the AC, we spoke with Richard to confirm that they would be able to fix the AC and cruise control at the same time and those items would be apart of the warranty repair. I have a really good warranty company he says.
They take the car and then proceed to keep it for 5 days to figure it is a rear door actuator (166.25) labor (313.20) and had nothing to do with Freon levels in the car which is what was told to my wife on the first trip in with the car. 100 Diagnostic for the first one and a 100 dollar diagnostics for the second one, and the cruise control is said to be the switch (198.99) and labor (162.40). Now my deductible on the warranty is (100) and I paid (212) above that to get the car back.
Wife picked up the car while I was a way drove it the 4 blocks home and parked it until I got home 3 days later. While driving to our favorite water park I had to stop by work so I thought I would take it out for a drive and meet them at the park, and while driving I tested the AC perfect temperature blend from cold to hot. Unfortunately the CRUISE DID NOT CONTROL. I take it back first thing in the morning and speak to Chris and inform him of that the cruise control do not work still. He tells me that the ADVANCED Service technician will not be in till the next day and that he would appreciate it if I drop it off first thing in the morning, I tell him I am catching an early flight but would drop the keys in the box.
I do as I say and pull up at 5:30 in the AM on the 20th and park the car right out front and place the keys in the box. 12 hours later I call the service center because I had not heard anything in regards to what the culprit might be that is causing the cruise not to function. They haven't looked at it and had not even yet gotten the keys out of the box. He assures me that it will be in the garage first thing and will call me to let me know. NOTHING the next day and the day after we call and they tell my wife that they are trying to track the problem down they would let us know something the next day. 23rd I call and I am told that they believed it had to do with 2 missing fuses and was accused of removing them. I assured them that I did no such thing and asked if they had replaced the fused and that it was now working. The answer was yes they replaced the fuses and NO it was not working still. The advanced Technician would be back again the next day and he would be able to trace the problem quickly. My wife calls the next day and assured that the problem is connected to a BRAKE PEDAL SWITCH, hence my reference to the brakes, and Richard is asked by my wife how much of that is covered by the warranty and he tells her that he does even want to deal with the warranty company again because approvals take forever, and he would just NC it. Well the switch is 93.69 and the labor is 116.00 dollars because it did not end up being NC. So the next day I stop in to see if I can pick it up and I am told the Brake switch was bad but that it was only one of the items that caused the intermittent switch and still was not working and the only other item it could be is was the clock spring and that they were waiting for the diagnostic work to be back but the guy doing it was out on a test drive to confirm another car was working. They next day my wife called and they told her the same thing, but this time the reason she was calling was because the car also needed to be smog and it had been in the shop so long that it had slip her mind and she wanted to know if it was going to be ready soon and if not could they possibly do the smog and that way she could register the car. WELL the clock switch was order and they would fix it when it came in but in the meantime they would smog it for her.
Well TODAY i went to get the car, I walked the mile to the shop first thing in the morning because I wanted it no matter what today. Chris assured me the part would be in by noon and the smog would be done by 9:00. By 4:40 I received the first call from the shop in 6 days, and they would not be able to smog it because all the codes were reset and it need to drive for 100 miles. But the car was ready. I again walked to the shop and the car was ready minus the screws they forgot to put in the steering column, good thing I noticed. I WILL NEVER BE BACK, BUYER BEWARE.
