| - I would say I kind of like this place, as I did decide to get married here. As soon as we walked in for the first time, we felt like it was home-literally. Hilary's dog Jack greeted us at the door, and was a very friendly tour guide. The place is enormous, and a bit menacing from the outside. I actually almost hoped we'd hate it, because I knew my dad would have a fit if we chose to get married here. But we did, and it was lovely. There's so much character, so many great artists, so many treasures to discover. We had the ceremony upstairs in Hilary Aurand's gallery (I think the name has changed, so I am not sure what it is.) We worked with Hilary (who was great!) to do some decorating and she made the room truly beautiful. We did our reception downstairs in the main room and were even able to hang some art by an artist who is a good friend of my husband's family. We loved that the space took a big empty building and made something beautiful of it. Nevertheless, even if you aren't planning a wedding, you should check this place out. We have been to many "Third Friday" events and they are always so much fun. There's generally a food truck serving up awesome food, and you can generally either buy wine or beer, or you can bring your own! Our wedding brought a lot of people who had never visited the space to the galleries, and they had a blast wandering around and checking it out. I would highly recommend visiting this place. It is a true Cleveland treasure that will make you immediately want to create something. Don't be scared off by the slightly creepy vibe of the street it's on, I promise you, you'll love it!
