  • One of the nicest dealerships I've been to. These guys are serious professionals. They have a new electric vehicle charging station out front; a while ago, I stopped by to charge my new Volt, since I wanted to grab dinner at Burger's Priest next door. Lo and behold, they had a Hyundai Ioniq EV sitting right at the front doors--a new model that's extremely hard to find. I was surprised to see it. I went in and asked if it happened to be sold already, as I had been eager to test drive one, but thought they were back ordered through 2018 like the Bolt and E-Golf. Amazingly, it wasn't spoken for! Right on the spot, maybe 5 minutes from first laying eyes on the car, I was sitting in the driver's seat, doing my test drive! Wow. I've never had an experience like that at a dealership--normally it's a much slower affair. I loved the Ioniq EV--the test drive blew me away. I've test driven almost every EV available and the Ioniq might be my favourite sub-$50K one. I bought my Volt recently, but we're a multi-car family and want to switch our other 2 cars to full EVs, and have the Volt as our sole plugin hybrid for long trips on gas. For some reason I guess Aurora Hyundai doesn't want to be "EV certified", so Pine View is my nearest Ioniq EV dealer--how fortunate, as I'd probably come down here anyways, after my great test drive experience. Definitely thinking an Ioniq will be in the cards shortly after Winter ends, or maybe we might wait for the Kona EV if it ends up having 4WD.
