LOVE FROZEN YOGURT. Went out for lunch in Yorkville and having tried numerous froyo joints throughout the city, I figured I'd give the one closest to my home a whirl. It was pretty good in some ways, in others not.
The staff are pleasant and really want you to take free samples. I'm a froyo traditionalist, vanilla and chocolate, so I wasn't to into it. But the thought was nice! They put the vanilla and chocolate beside each other, which is awesome for the twist. Some places don't do that. But when I crank it, it sputters out some liquidy froyo before shooting out the actual froyo. That saddened me as my froyo began to melt immediately.
The consistency of the froyo is not really smooth, has more of an icy-ness to it but on this hot day I liked it. The vanilla was quite tart, not like traditional vanilla. Where this place really excels? THE TOPPINGS. They have good little chocolate candy toppings that aren't too sickening and they have these crazy "chocolate rocks" that actually look like little rocks. They were really neat!
The cost seemed a little expensive to me compared to what I have paid elsewhere, but it is Yorkville so I'm not overly concerned about it.
They also give points via a point card system, so make sure you sign up if you're living/working in the area.
