| - On my first visit my girlfriend invited me here for Wednesday night $1 oysters. I am not a big fan of oysters but I am a big fan of Happy Hours so I accepted the invite. Having never been here before I was immediately impressed with the decor. To me it was very Chip and Joanna farmhouse inspired. We were seated at a booth facing the bar. We had two servers, a male and female. I wish I could remember the male's name but he was training Jillian, the female. They were both very attentive and offered suggestions. We were going to order a carafe of wine and Jillian let us know that for the price and amount we were better off ordering by the glass. Aside from the oysters our table ordered the chicken wings, pepperoni pizza and the herbs and green salad. The Happy Hour menu offerings are $6 so obviously these aren't large portions and it was what you would expect wings, pizza and salad to be. At least twice during our meal a manager came by to check on us.
Second visit I came with a group of girlfriends, four of us total. We had reservations, were seated and given menus, both Happy Hour and regular. Two of us had preordered the Lobster Bowl special for $24. We asked the waitress about it and she didn't know what we were talking about as far as reserving it. Not a big deal because she checked and said there were plenty available, 30 to be exact, After taking our drink orders she kind of disappeared but not really because we could see her chatting with another waitress while we were sitting there with our menus closed ready to order. Once she finally noticed we were ready she came back and we ordered our food items. Service on this occasion was not that great. It was more of a flag down who you could type of evening. If not for us flagging who we could down I don't remember her independently checking on us once. The Lobster Bowl was a disappointment. The lobster was okay but the accompanying bowl items, the potatoes and sausage were bland, tasteless and not seasoned at all.
At this point just by default I'm sure I will be back at the invite of a friend but I will stick to happy hour going forward and hold my expectations of service to a minimum.
