| - We had to stay 1 night in Scottsdale on our road trip to Texas. Picked this place from a "deal" on Priceline. Said it was "109" for a 4 Star in Scottsdale and pet friendly. I thought, hey great deal.
The place is OK at best, nothing impressive other than its massive size, the property is Huge!
Front desk staff are very friendly and nice. Actually the entire staff, from the doorman, the security at the reception desk was all very welcoming.
Here's my issue and yes, I am partially the blame. At check-in, I mentioned I have a 20 lbs dog. They told me it ok and had me sign a waiver. "Initial here, here, and sign here". Standard stuff right, so I breeze through it and signed/initial where they said. Next morning at check out, they ask how do I want to pay for the pet fee. First thing I ask was, how much. They said 84.00. I said why wasn't I told this before hand. They said its on THEIR website and on the waiver that I signed. Totally my fault, I should have been more proactive about the fee. I knew there might be one. Ok, now the issue I have with them, I didn't go to their website, I was on Priceline. I showed the price for the room, taxes, even how much the "resort fee" is that will be paid directly by the hotel at check-in which was actually waved because I booked by Priceline "they didn't mention that until I ask". If they can mention the resort fee, they can mention the pet fee in my opinion. Additionally, at check in, they quickly breezed me thur the waiver form. It was have been nice if they could have either highlighted the fee or mention the fee while showing where to initial/sign. I was expecting to pay the 17.00 "resort fee" at checkout and maybe a 10.00 - 25.00 pet fee, not 84.00 pet charge. Didn't mention at any time the pet fee or that the resort fee was waved.
Now, on to the room. The room was clean, big. Had a flat screen, mini bar with snacks, candy, wine, and water for and extremely high price. Lol
Oh yeah, you will get a knock on your door from the hotel staff in the morning to do inventory on the mini bar. We was still in the room when she knocked, my wife was in the shower, I was getting dressed. I didn't get to the door by the first knock, so she proceeded to use her key and let herself in! I was just Shocked!!! Didn't understand why they don't do this AFTER you leave, not while your still there. We could have been asleep, I could have been the only one in the room taking a shower while she just left herself in. CRAZY!!!
It say 4 Star, but UNLESS YOU GET A GREAT GREAT DEAL...don't waste your money, time, or effort at looking at this place. I thought I was getting a good deal, ended with paying way more for a place that was not worth it at all!
