Relatively new in Vegas and found this vet for vaccine, annual exam, grooming, dog sitting, and to establish care. Whom I presumed was owners wife approached me ( I presumed so because she wasn't wearing uniform, and how she interacted with the doctors). She said she was an experienced groomer of many years and is cutting down on her work schedule, thus will only take few clients: these were reasons why she quoted $80. (Because she has fewer client to focus on, her price is higher. ) She admitted it's higher than most groomers, but she guaranteed her grooming skill is worth the surcharge. Why would I doubt her? She said she has years of experience and how wonderful my dog will look after the grooming.
Dog came back home. An hours later noticed my white bedding had fresh blood spot everywhere. I looked at my dogs paws, every one of her nails were actively bleeding. Paw pads had several cuts 2 inch in diameter, raw skin layers exposed with no signs of blood drying up, this is couple hours after the grooming is done ( pictures attached )
I wouldn't share how I feel about this woman who made a nice sales pitch, but had nothing to show for. Blatant lies about how her higher grooming price is worth her years of experience. Then to use someone with obviously no grooming experience, cut up my dogs paw pads, cutting into the blood vessel of all her nails. Grooming was actually incomplete: furs were untrimmed between paw pads, and fur were unevenly cut. This was the work of an amateur, not someone with experience.
I can't imagine the stupid groomer hurting my dog once, seeing dog's physical reaction to pain inflicted on the first nail, then to continue cutting the remaining 9 nails, in the same abusive manner (as if hearing a dog yelps from pain wasn't already a warning sign to stop and check) As for the paw pads that were still bleeding 2 hours after the laceration, I have no idea what could have caused those lacerations (see pictures). Owner is supposedly president of Las Vegas Association of Vet! Really shocked to see this type of abuse going on here. I might have expected this if I took my dog to some hole in the wall grooming shop with a 50% off coupon. This was actually a nice facility. Glad I saw their bloody work before I signed up for dog sitting and leave my dog in their hands for days. After I showed them the pictures, not one person in the clinic offered to treat her lacerations.
Trust is earned, not how many stars in Yelp !
