  • I went to savers after seeing a commercial stating that they carry new and used Halloween Costumes. I had no idea it was a Thrift or Consignment Store until I walked in. I should have known this place would be a mild disappointment when there was an accident on the 101 which made me have to detour, followed by me going over one of those massive speed humps and my spare tire becoming dislodged and rolling out from under the Santa Fe. (sigh) And onto the review: Clean. Neatly organized and it did not have that thrift store smell. It carried the usual crap. Rows of Harlequin novels, junk furniture, clothing for men women and children. aisles an aisles of linens for the home. Lots of bad ass kids running around. But I was there for the Halloween costumes and accessories. Very poor selection of Halloween costumes even for the kids. The used costumes, I wasn't really sure how many of them were costumes versus what used to be an active part of some poor fashion challenged person's wardrobe. Now everything was dirt cheap. Fairy/Butterfly swings for 8-10 bucks. Wigs for under 10, plastic swords and I am pretty sure I saw something for 1.99. I left without a costume but sauntered over to the women's dress aisle and found some diamonds in the rough. Lots of random prom or bridal gowns. some fit for work items and lots of jean dresses. I could see going to Savers to buy somethings to wear while working in the yard or cleaning out a basement. Maybe some cheapo linens to use while saying in a cabin or fitting the dress room for your in-laws... Its just a thrift store not bad but not great.
