| - 6/24/15: Came here as part of a food tour, and supposedly they had good examples of the butter tart. Upon arriving in Canada I immediately started seeking out "Canadian food" but despite asking a dozen people for what food could be labeled as Canadian, people unanimously said there is none. Well, .... but after some hard thinking some were able to come up with maybe one item. So, all the Canadian food I could find would be "pea meal bacon", maple [anything], and this... the butter tart...
1. Plain Butter Tart C$1.25: I actually already had one of these in the morning from a coffee place, which was frickin' good. But since I actually had one to compare with, I'd have to say that despite being prettier and fancier here, it actually didn't taste as good. Unfortunately I don't remember the specifics, but I do remember I didn't like the crust they used here. It was good enough and finished the whole thing, but since a standard coffee chain beat it... well... 5/10.
I only had one item, but based on that, 3/5
