| - Do not get CenturyLink. I've been a customer for years, since it was the only option I could afford, but seriously, I should have spent the money on another service.
When I first got their service, I worked from home and it would cut out all the time, forcing me to drive all the way to corporate office to do my work. I'd call them twice a week and finally ended up leaving that job.
Then when my year membership was over, I tried to work with a representative to get a good offer on a new year. Something happened and I was no longer able to log into my online account at all. I'd spend hours on the phone each time trying to fix it, this problem has persisted for an entire year now with no resolution.
My office actually uses this service for work. I work at an apartment community. We ALWAYS have problems with it. It cuts out all the time, they've constantly had to send out representatives and they even had a problem where they couldn't add new customers (CenturyLink is the only provider at that complex). It took them more than a month to resolve. A lot of people were without internet during that time.
And then, I call to cancel my services before my move. I spent two hours on the phone for someone to finally tell me I couldn't set a cancellation for a future date. I had to call the day of my move to cancel... which obliviously didn't happen because I was busy MOVING.
I've now been on the phone today for another two hours, I've been hung up on 3 times, and can't cancel my service. Because, again, I can't log into my online account.
This is the worst customer service and internet connection I've ever had. Please, spend the money and get something else for your home and business.
