  • I recently took my Honda Civic here because my engine light had been turning on for a week or so, then turned off, and then back on (not flashing mind you.) A guy at an oil-change place ran the code for me and I researched a lot about catalytic converters, which is what I had suspected the code to possibly mean. I had this confirmed at the Honda dealership because the oil-change place doesn't fix more in-depth car issues. It was about $100 for the dealership to confirm to me that it was indeed my catalytic converter. I asked the gentleman if my converter was cracked or just dirty and clogged. He told me what a converter looks like, um duh I know this but thanks, and then told me that when converters get clogged the honeycomb part starts cracking. I thought it was very weird he didn't reply to me with a "yes" or "no" and did not show me my converter while they had it out. I guess they think I'm a giant f-cktard because I'm a (other people think I'm pretty)-girl. Since this guy didn't answer my question I decided not to pay the other $800 to them to meet the $900 new catalytic converter fee. During my visit I also looked at new Honda CR-V's, and Brad was great. He didn't try to over-sell me on anything I didn't want. In the end I didn't come back to buy a new car here because I managed to get my catalytic converter de-clogged myself, and once my car really bites the dust I will be buying my next Honda elsewhere. The dealership lost all my future trust getting my car fixed by them as well as my future Honda purchases. That's a shame because Brad truly was a great person to try to buy a car from. But I don't want to be worried I will be taken advantage of every time I bring my car there for an oil-change when it is under warranty you know? Maybe because I was considering a new car they figured they'd push me into it faster by telling me my old car needed a $900 repair? Anyways I have been stewing about the guy at the maintenance desk not giving me a straight-answer to my question. He seemed super nice but I guess no one is going to be rude to you while trying to pull a fast one on you!!! Btw I came to this place because it got such great reviews on Yelp!
