  • BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! I was moving from CA to NJ & looked up moving companies on Yelp. I came across Elite Moving & Storage yelp.com/biz/elite-moving-and-storage-sun-valley-4 & contacted them. I received an email from Elite Moving & Storage (thinking it was the same company) asking me to fill out an inventory check & received a quote back. I spoke with Beau who was great on the phone so I decided to go with them, thinking they had decent Yelp reviews. Well-BAIT AND SWITCH. Days before my move I was going over the paperwork & saw the Vegas return address. I looked further because I remembered them being a CA company. When I looked up reviews on Elite Moving & Storage in Vegas, I was HORRIFIED. Move in day comes & 3 guys show up with an Enterprise truck. They stick colored, numbered stickers on all of your items & load up. They take your items to the hub in Vegas, unload your items, put in a warehouse, & re-load onto the 18 wheeler that will do the drive to your place. They do not say this upfront & makes it super easy for items to get lost. You tell them when the earliest day that you can be there to receive your items is, and then they have up to 10 business days to deliver, and this happens 70% of the time. My move took about 3.5 weeks. The driver arrived & went over paperwork with me&gave me a bingo sheet. All of those little stickers on my boxes match up with the numbers on this sheet. You're supposed to cross off the numbers as your boxes come in, & then whatever isn't crossed off you know you're missing. Well, the original guys who put the stickers on the boxes put them on seams where the flaps meet, and in transit the boxes went through hell. Almost NONE of the numbers were readable so I have no idea if I'm missing items or not. The driver was a 60 yr old guy who wasn't able to do much. He only had 1 younger guy with him who did ALL of the moving himself. He was dragging my king size mattress down the sidewalk on a freaking dolly&it was dragging across the ground. I was mortified, that is something at least two people should be handling.... you don't move a mattress on a dolly!!! All of my big furniture was lined up down the sidewalk waiting to be moved in. When the driver realized it would take at least two people to get it upstairs he frantically started making phone calls to find help. As nice as the driver was, he was COMPLETELY unprepared for this move. Finally another guy showed up.... but with his CHILD!! Like a 2 year old baby! The driver stopped working and was holding the baby while the two other younger guys moved my stuff upstairs. When it came time to move the mattress upstairs I WAS LEFT HOLDING THE CRYING BABY!! So many of my items were damaged.... a hole punched in my desk, an entire dresser drawer that has a glass panel was broken and there was glass all over the outside of my townhouse. Holes in other furniture.... THEY LEFT MY REFRIDGERATOR OUTSIDE! The driver was in a rush to leave and couldn't fit it through the door so he just left it outside on the back patio. I was in shock. I contacted Bank of America about this since I had used my BofA Visa. I was told that they would be able to file a charge back, but that I had to contact the company first. I contacted the moving company & spoke with Kevryn. She seemed shocked by my story & apologized. I said I'd like a refund, or partial since I paid for a professional service & did not receive one. She said she was going to take this straight to the owners. I called on a Wed & she said I'd hear back by Friday. That didn't happen so I called the next week & spoke with someone by the name of Paul who told me Kevryn wasn't taking calls but he'd tell her I called & I would get a call back. I contacted BofA again, was put on hold for a while,& was told there was nothing they could do: 1) they have no proof that my items weren't damaged before the move happened, & 2) My items DID get delivered. I told him, if my items were broken before the move, notes would have been made so that the moving company wouldn't be held liable. He basically ignored me & said since there is no proof, there is nothing they can do. I never got a call back from Elite Moving & Storage so I called AGAIN today, and spoke with John, who said he was a manager there. He was so cold, and just they can not refund me any portion of this. He told me the move was completed and I got my stuff. I asked what kind of customer service is that??? I did not pay to baby sit! He told me I could have refused the service. This move had already taken HOURS longer than it should have, I was not going to refuse anything that would get it over and done with! He didn't care at all about anything that had taken place. This company is a JOKE and unprofessional. They will take your money and give you a big middle finger. I am so appalled by the lack of customer service-look at their reviews, here and on BBB. OBVIOUSLY they don't care & will continue to take advantage
