| - They seriously need additional customer service training at this store. I am accustomed to being greeted and asked if I need assistance at other stores. But at this location that I have visited multiple times, that is rarely the case. Regarding my last (and last) visit, I ordered a ceramic chihuahua online for store pick up. When the cashier retrieved the item, her first remark was "Its not ceramic, its metal." Rather than try to educate her that the product was indeed ceramic with a metallic paint glaze, I ignore her ignorance and allow her to present the merchandise. She proceeds to unwrap a terrier, not a chihuahua. When I comment that its not a chihuahua, she says "Yes it is." Again, rather than try to educate her on the difference between the two breeds, I just pull up the picture online of the chihuahua so she can see for herself the difference. She disputes again that its the same thing. So when I of course object, she says they look the same to her.
Well around this time the supervisor approaches for another matter and instructs the cashier she needs to go handle something else. When I show the supervisor the picture, she too says it is the correct item. I show her the picture and she can see no difference. (Really?!) According to her all dogs look the same, but then she does realize that the SKU on the terrier does not match so she offers a refund because they have no other ceramic dogs in inventory. I ask her if she can check other stores' inventory. While she goes to check, she asks "you didnt see any other locations when you ordered it?" Well of course there was no need for me to even check other locations if the one most convenient to me showed they had it! So she says only Asheville and Wilmington have them and they don't ship inventory between stores. So much for that!
While she is processing the return, she tells me they do have other dog knick knacks but they aren't chihuahuas. They have a dachsund and some other breed that I was amazed she could identify since they all look the same to her and she can't discern the clear differences between a chihuahua and terrier. Anyway, I get my refund and receipt and go on my way, noticing that the reason for return indicated on the receipt is "changed mind" although that was entirely untrue. So when I get home, I decide to see what the online inventory shows. Lo and behold, the Concord store only 20 minutes away (not 2-3 hours) shows stock! So I roll the dice and decide to order it. Thankfully, Concord had the correct product and courteous associates.
