| - 4-stars for this hotel. I know, I know--hear me out first. Bally's does not have the same name recognition and prestige as Caesar's Palace, the Venetian, or the Bellagio; however, you have to consider what you are looking for. Please note this review is long.
LOCATION: The hotel is in a prime location, right in the middle of The Strip and near many other major hotels. Bally's is connected to the Paris Las Vegas Hotel--go through the casino (past the poker tables) and you'll see the path to Le Boulevard. Planet Hollywood Hotel, the Miracle Mile Shopping Complex, the Cosmopolitan, ARIA, the Cromwell, the Flamingo, Nobu, the Bellagio, and Caesar's Palace are all accessible with a pretty short walk. The latter two are accessible by taking the bridge in front of Bally's, which leads to Via Bellagio--inside, you turn left/straight to reach the Bellagio and right for Caesar's. Other hotels are not too far away either--you just need to walk a little bit further. Food (casual and upscale), booze, boobs, and casinos are all within walking distance. There is a CVS right next to Bally's (at the S Las Vegas Blvd entrance).
PRICE: If you just want a regular hotel room at a relatively low price, Ballys is a great option. I paid an average $92/day albeit with an ID.me discount for four nights ($102 without it), and it came with a "Strip view" (no extra charge--facing the Eiffel Tower Restaurant with other hotel towers visible). The large "resort fee" covers the different services and amenities offered, i.e., wi-fi. If you're looking for something a little more romantic, you might want to keep searching.
CROWD: It's mixed. There are single guests, couples, larger families, smokers, and non-smokers of all age groups among others. I didn't have any problem with loud and rowdy guests on my floor, but that is based on my recent experience.
ROOMS: My room was in the Jubilee Tower. Unlike other hotels I've stayed at, it was actually pretty quiet. My room was clean (enough), came with a fridge (not all rooms have one), complementary toiletries, iron/ironing board, towels, and coffee among others. Housekeeping does a pretty solid job. Keep in mind they don't clean rooms after 5pm. If they skip your room and it's not 5pm yet, just head to the Hotel Services room on your floor and request for it. The shower's water pressure is weak, while the "hot" water is more on the "moderately warm" side. You could order room service, but you might as well eat outside; you *are* in Vegas, after all. There is also a food court at the basement level of the hotel; take the stairs/escalator located near the last row of slot machines in the back. The "Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner" sign on the wall is your landmark.
CASINO/GRAND BAZAAR: The first thing you see when you enter the hotel is the check-in counter (left side) and the casino (right/middle). High stakes poker tables are next to Nosh/near the path leading to the Jubilee Towers, while the regular poker tables are in the middle; the slot machines go past them. The Grand Bazaar is home to small shops and eateries accessible by taking the escalator on your left (near the entrance). It is also a shorter way to access the bridge leading to the Bellagio and Caesar's Palace.
There is always a line of taxis (cars, vans, and MPVs) parked near the entrance, so no need to call for one. If you want an attractive hotel "with a name," I can't blame you; I personally like the Bellagio. However, Bally's is a very solid option on The Strip.
