| - I am not really sure whether to give this hotel a 3 star review. The location is great. If you just want a place to crash that is in the midst of everything, stay here. That being said, the basic room we stayed in was small and not fancy. I noticed five or so things that made it look shabby (peeling wallpaper, chipped paint, etc.) which gave an overall not-too-nice feel to the place. It reminded me of a French Holiday Inn. The bathroom was big, which is always nice, with a separate shower and tub.
The staff was not very pleasant. The front desk staff was ok when we checked in, but we had to wait a long time which seemed ridiculous because they only had one person working. Not great management in my opinion. The housekeeping staff was rude to us a couple times. When I had to squeeze past a cart in our hallway when we were checking in, she moved the cart a tiny bit and when I said "Excuse me! Thank you!" and smiled at her, she just huffed. RUDE. Needless to say, I didn't tip the housekeeping staff.
The little shops and restaurants downstairs are just meh. But right outside, we went to Mon Ami Gabi for breakfast, and it was GREAT. And we went to The Sugar Factory next door for a goblet drink and it was really good, if expensive. The hotel is located right across from the Bellagio fountains.
