We booked this hotel since the Doubletree was booked for a convention. A big selling point here was the IHG Rewards and the photos of the hotel looked nice. There are several areas of concern for me. First the hotel had an odd smell throughout, maybe this was just because the carpets were recently cleaned I'm not sure, so I'll give a pass on this. Additionally the floorijg outside of the elevators on the 4th floor was very worn out and/or stained. Next up was our room on the 4th floor. The hotel advertises that they were renovated recently. In our room alone there is a very noticable section of wallpaper hanging off the wall below the window, one lampshade next to the bed is completely peeling apart and hanging below the rest of the shade and another lamp lost the seam at the bottom leaving a yellow strip of plastic exposed. The worst part of our room is the bathroom door doesn't even close. It's either not set right or the stripping on the floor is too high and the door will not close over it without a VERY hard push. I've stayed at plenty of Holiday Inn locations and this is honestly the worst one by a long ways. How can a hotel boast being renovated and yet have such sub standard room conditions? If you're looking for a hotel who takes pride in it's condition of its rooms this isn't the hotel for you. We definitely will not be traveling to this hotel again.
