| - First of all, service was excellent. The salesperson was available, but not pushy at all, and I was there for over an hour.
However, I can't yet review the furniture I bought at Value City, because I haven't received it. I purchased a sofa, chair and a half, and ottoman on July 11. On that day, we scheduled delivery of the furniture for July 26. A week later I got a call telling me that the sofa was backordered until August 4, so we changed delivery to August 9. Today, I got a call telling me that the chair and a half is backordered until August 13, so we changed delivery to August 16. I can't really figure out what's happening - are later orders getting earlier delivery? Why wouldn't they know when I placed and paid for the order when the furniture I ordered would be available from the warehouse? I don't know if this is an issue with their warehousing system, or an issue with internal communication, but I'm pretty irritated that they've been holding $1,600 of mine for over three weeks so far, with two more to go.
If nothing else, payment should be taken upon delivery. It's not like they're making custom furniture upon each order.
