I've been frequenting this grocery store for years and just had the most disappointing customer service experience at the deli. My boyfriend and I were waiting in line to order a sandwich for 15 minutes when an older gentleman walked up with his sandwich list and asked if we were in line. We said yes, but he walked ahead of us anyways and stuck his arm over the plastic window to wave the list at one of the women working the counter, I'm assuming a regular of hers. She asked if we were waiting, we said yes. She told us very gruffly that we'd 'have' to wait a while for "Deb to come back" or maybe we could do some shopping. Then she proceeded to take the list from the man who had just arrived. It is unacceptable not to serve customers in the order they arrive. It's unprofessional to keep certain people waiting and not others and absolutely abhorrent for a deli associate to speak to a customer of any age in the tone she used. It was very unwelcoming, it really came across as 'you young people will have to wait'. We left to look for other options, I expect more from AJ's.
