  • Like one other reviewer remarked, "The reviews are true." They really are, folks. I moved to Las Vegas almost two years ago and struggled with getting myself to go to an auto shop for my car until now. I went to a great shop in Reno and was super hesitant to trust anyone new until now. I thoroughly read all the reviews on Yelp for Island Auto and finally called to make an appointment to get a few things checked out on my 2003 Toyota Corolla(226k miles). Making an appointment was easy over the phone and when I arrived today at my appointment time, I was attended to on time. After checking out my car and giving me an honest assessment of my car fears, I ended up electing to get my front brake pads replaced and the rotors resurfaced(though, I was not pressured. I was assured I could go a bit longer but now was when they would start to recommend replacement as they were getting thin.) I figured taking care of one of the things on my checklist was smart, so I went ahead and had it done, especially since I thought the price was VERY fair. The other two issues I had were met with advice and recommended timelines for addressing, which I appreciated. I wasn't taken advantage of and I was given an honest, straight forward answer, as well as thoughtful advice about my concerns. I was given an estimate sheet on one of my future car jobs, just to have it in hand. It wasn't until the end that I realized the guy who was helping me was Kuba because I hadn't asked his name until the end. Really nice, honest guy who runs a no frills, fair priced work shop that is concerned about your and your car's safety. Work was done in less than two hours and I waited inside their little waiting room with couches and a tv. Note: at first I tried to open the front facing door and it was locked, but the entrance is just inside the garage area and to the left. There is a restroom(clean!) a little further down on the left as well. Overall, a really great experience that has given me peace of mind about my car. Definitely recommended.
