  • All I can say is.... O.M.G. My husband and I went on our Honeymoon in Sorrento, Italy in October. The food was so amazing! Since we have been home we have been trying to find an authentic restaurant that actually lives up to real Italian cooking. It took months... but we finally found it at Alla Famiglia. The restaurant itself is beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. From the moment we walked in the door it had the feel of a little Italian place on a side street in Capri. The wait staff was wonderful and very attentive. They serve Aqua Panna, just as they would in Italy. They also serve a wonderful hot bread with cheese spread, olive oil, and a small bean and cheese salad. It was fabulous and unexpected. Mistakenly, we ordered two appitizers (not knowing how much food we would be getting with our meals!). We got the greens and beans and the pan seared shrimp and calamari. Both were very tasty. Our meals came with salad and a pasta course, which we did not realize at first. I do wish the waiter would have told us, because we did order WAY too much food and didn't eat much of our meals because we were so full by the time they came out. But everything was amazing, so I shouldn't be complaining. First, they brought out our salads. They were unique and very well presented with olives, raisins, and fresh roasted red peppers. So good! A pasta course came next -- with a vodka sauce that was to die for. I love a good vodka sauce but my husband isn't really a fan. However, he couldn't stop talking about how good the pasta was! I was impressed. Finally, they brought out our meals. I got a veal and house-made sausage dish with spinach, cherry tomato and beans. It was absolutely wonderful. My husband got a white fish with risotto. I am not big on fish but it was also amazing and my husband said it was the best fish he has had in Pittsburgh. To sum it up -- we are big fans now and I hope to go back soon!
