Not this year, but several years ago, we decided [as a family; it was a group decision, as these things must be] to forego slaving over 8.9 billion dishes in the kitchen in favor of going to the Grand Concourse. It was a good decision. No one missed not baking a boatload of pies/mashing a mountain of potatoes/scalding 7 gallons of giblets and gravy.
Why aren't we doing that tomorrow? I don't actually know. Probably because we didn't make reservations.
