| - Cannot list all the times over 20 years we ended up at Perkins! After a long day at the University, as both students and staff. In the middle of the night when neither of us could sleep. When my in-laws had a craving for French Silk (and omg, the number of pies I bought... it's just not quantifiable!). When the ice had brought down all the electrical, once, and the roads were sheets of ice, a death-defying trek to Perkins, who promptly saved Christmas, one year!
Whenever we couldn't make up our mind about anywhere else, the answer was always Perkins, and this location (on University) always met the call. A warm pancake stack, with an ice cream scoop sized wad of butter melting in! The aforementioned French Silk pie, a slice of it just as a treat. Even their hot turkey plate-- a real Butterball turkey, slow cooked, with amazing "fixin's". I mean... food doesn't have to be froo froo for me in order to be _good_, _wholesome_, and made with love. So many meals I've had here, and I'd say that the vast majority of them have been something special!
Perkins is super reasonable on price. The restaurant is a little dated, now, but you just _can't_ judge this book by its cover. Because there's love underneath what they do, here, and if you can't find something to enjoy, you just aren't trying hard enough (or you're trying _too_ hard to be a snob! ;D).
