I moved here taking on a short term lease (4 months) so that I could have a place for my wife and I to stay while we sold one home in CA and found a new one in Charlotte.
I moved in at $1200/month on a 4 month lease. 2 months into it, they sent me a letter for a lease renewal, seeking $1500/month. Nothing has changed in the past 3 months. The place has the same carpet, the same fixtures, the same everything. They know that they have me living there and that it would cost me a substantial amount of time and energy (what business school grads call 'Switching Cost') so they decided to bend me over and have their way with me. They were wonderfully friendly when I was moving in... once they get their hooks into you, watch out!
I'm very seriously considering moving out of this place and into another short term apartment just because their business practices are so awful.
DO NOT MOVE HERE. DON'T EVEN STOP TO LOOK.
I have 2 words for you: RUN AWAY!
PS: They can't seem to stop (or don't care to stop) the people who lets their dogs crap all over the parking garage and leave it there for everyone to have to step around. Really?
