| - If you want to get a reliable and affordable car, DO NOT get it from AutoNation Nissan Tempe!! This has truly been the worst experience ever. My daughter and I went there to look for a nice and reliable car for her and what we, in fact, purchase was an absolute LEMON from the time she drove it off the car lot. Within a day of my daughter getting her car, the check engine light went on and her gas gauge would show the car had over a half tank of gas and then suddenly the gauge would go to zero and she would run out of gas even though she had plenty of gas in the tank. After I placed numerous calls to the dealership it was finally agreed upon by Andre' Terry, Used Car Sales Manager, that she could take the car back to the dealership and have them take a look at it. After the car was in the service department they indicated that everything was fixed and the car was supposedly good to go again. Apparently nothing was done with her car and my daughter has continued to have the same problems with the gas tank issue. My daughter took her car to two different reputable service repair shops and it was indicated to me that the fuel pump needs to be replaced and the cost of repair would be almost $1300.00 and the brakes needed to be replaced as well. My daughter is a full time college student at ASU and certainly does not have the money to get her car repaired correctly. Basically, AutoNation Nissan Tempe did not want to have anything to do with this situation after they said they made the necessary repairs when the car was being serviced. Now my daughter has to carry a gas can in her trunk when she runs out of gas and has been stranded several times because of this. Until the gas tank can be replaced the gas gauge can read full, when it actually is, and then goes to empty and the car stalls and reads it is out of gas. Apparently this is a dual tank so the gas is is one side of the tank and does not read that there is gas in that side of the tank. Bottom line, she is so upside down with this car as far as turning it in to get reliable transportation at a fair price, which was not the case here. So this is what she is up against each and every day, and night, as she works nights and has to worry if she runs out of gas each and every time she drives it. Funny too, as after we left the finance department with papers signed and keys to the car, how the kind and friendly tune was changed when when we called to bring the car back to have it fixed. (Even though it never was!) SO therefore, this has been and continues to be a horrible, frustrating, and potentially dangerous experience (when the car suddenly reads empty and my daughter is stuck on the side of the road) and I am so disappointed we ever went to this dealership. And I feel bad that my daughter has to go through this, for example, she was driving to visit me where I live, 4 hours away, and she ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere after just topping off the tank AGAIN, and fortunately, a nice gentleman stopped and helped her car up and running again. However, in today's times who knows what the possibility of something bad happening.
I do not know what to do at this point with this ongoing scenario of this lemon, but I would not recommend AUTONATION NISSAN TEMPE to anyone, or even their worst enemy. What a pathetic experience!!
