I am so excited that Charlotte finally has a real ice cream shop! None of this frozen yogurt stuff. I adore ice cream (it's like my third love, behind pizza and my boyfriend) so I've been anxious to try this since it opened.
What we ordered:
I went this past weekend with my boyfriend and his parents. I tried the Cardamom (so unique!) and liked it but ultimately ordered the Salted Oreo in a bowl because I'd heard so much about this also-unique flavor. It was very salty. The salty flavor faded the more I ate it, but it was a little overpowering and I didn't feel like it added that much to what Oreo would already be. My boyfriend and his dad got the Brown Butter Whiskey Pecan. I had a small taste and thought it was pretty good! I forget what his mom got, but I didn't try it. His parents also told me that the cones were really good, both the sugar and the waffle, so I'll have to go back and try it, maybe this time with a different flavor.
Pros:
Unique ice cream flavors and a good variety
Fresh and homemade
Location!
Vegan options
Cons:
One scoop is literally one scoop. At most ice cream places a small isn't actually that small, but when ordering a one-scoop cone here, you literally get one scoop on top of the cone. They don't even push it down into the cone!
The sun streams in the storefront in the afternoon, which makes it hot in there. Makes me wonder if the ice cream ever melts.
