| - I enjoyed the experience of shopping for my gown at Brilliant, but I was dissatisfied with the other aspects of their store.
I bought my dress a year in advance of my wedding at the Dobson location. I worked with Lindsay and she was great, always up front about the faults of a dress and very helpful in helping me envision what dresses could look like once they've been altered. She brought me an alfred angelo that I hated on the hanger but convinced me to give it a try with the right accoutrements. Now that my gown is altered, I love it -- and it was my dream dress for a cool $250.
Now, on to the bad. After I bought my dress I went back to buy the $85 sash that had originally sold me on the dress. They were also running an Amazon Local deal so I bought the coupon that would get me a certain dollar amount off. I read the fine print before I bought it and it expressly said that you could use the amount on bridal wear AND accessories. When I arrive in store, I was turned down because they said that all the sashes were made by a "local vendor" so they weren't allowed to use any coupons on it.
I did have one issue with the Phoenix store -- originally when I bought my dress they were running a "Pardon Our Dust" promotion which gave me a free spot cleaning and pressing. It was a year later when I was getting married so I called them to schedule my cleaning and they informed me that they could no longer honor my promotion. I originally posted my complaint on this Yelp review and then received a call from Lindsey, the manager of the Phoenix location -- who was actually my original bridal consultant. She apologized for the miscommunication and offered to make it right by refunding my money when I went to pick up the dress. After that, my experience was wonderful. They did a great job on my dress and were true to their word on refunding the money I had originally paid for the cleaning.
My friends also rented their suits from them for their wedding -- and they were terrible. The sizes were off and they were baggy on everyone. What's the point of getting measurements on everyone?
Bottom line is that I think this place is great for dresses. You can get name brand stuff for much less. However, think twice when purchasing Yelp deals, accessories, suits, or services -- that's how they getcha!
