I found Alis Fashion Designs on Yelp and was immediately encouraged by all the amazing reviews but they don't do nearly enough justice! I filled out an inquiry form for wedding dress alterations a few months before I thought I would need them, because it can take vendors a while to get back to you sometimes. Lana called me not even 10 minutes after I submitted the form and after a quick chat we came up with a timeline. She was very accommodating when I had to change my appointments because of my work schedule and answered questions so promptly. And all of this is even BEFORE the appointment.
Her shop is beautiful - BEAUTIFUL. The most flattering lighting and amazing mirrors. I could spend all day just looking in them. When we talked about possible sleeves it was so immediately clear how knowledgeable she is. She let me know immediately what ideas were and weren't feasible. I ended up just going with a hem and bustle - and the nine-point bustle she came up with is absolutely GORGEOUS. I've never seen one like it. It makes my dress float across the ground and fits the feel of my wedding perfectly. She came up with it so quickly too! I was pinned, basted, and out of the dress in less than half an hour. She also had everything done in like 3 weeks. And she is CONSTANTLY BUSY which makes the speed even more impressive.
When I picked it up, she suggested sewing in cups and actually got them sewn in within an hour. Her prices are incredibly reasonable. Actually, they're a steal. For the amount of detail and the sheer beauty of the bustle, I would have expected to pay twice as much. She also let my friend video the bustling process and drew us a diagram to reference for the day-of. I'm planning on bringing a dress in next week to do some customization for the rehearsal and I'm actively looking for fancy events so I can get something custom made just for me. I literally cannot say enough to praise Lana.
