  • This review is purely based on the takeout fish fry experience. When I ask the question, where is the best fish fry in Pittsburgh, everyone has told me to go to Epiphany Church on Fridays. Now that Lent is here I decided to give it a try with some co-workers. Little did I know, Epiphany does their fish fry all the way through the end of June. I just assumed it was during Lent. Since we had several people, we called our order in ahead of time. It only took about a half hour for things to be ready. I ordered the fish sandwich along with a side of coleslaw. We walked over to the church to pick everything up and had no problems at all. They have stations setup for pickup along with all the condiments you could want. You will get your fish wrapped separately from the bun to keep it from getting soggy. The bun was soft and rather large but not as big as the flakey battered piece of cod you will receive. I had to cut it in half to get it on the bun.Wow is this thing big!!! And delicious! It was well worth the $9 I paid. The coleslaw in the other hand was a huge disappointment. It tasted alright but I paid $2 for about 5 bites. It was literally in one of those tiny thin 1/4 cup styrofoam containers. It really wasn't worth it. I'll stick with the fish and plan on going back a few times between now and the end of Lent. Then it will be a nice option on Fridays through the end of June.
