A fulfilling and a hearty meal! That's what I felt a meal in Tana Ethiopian Cuisine was.
Came here on a Saturday evening and we were immediately seated. The waiter was extremely courteous and very efficient. He asked us if we had been there before, and when the answer was no, he began explaining to us, the concept of ordering food there.
Basically every dish (meat or vegetarian) came with additional 2 side dishes of vegetarian or from a couple of salads which he highlighted. These were smaller portions and accompanies the main bigger sized entree element (meat or vegetarian). Felt this was a nice way to experience a combination of dishes. We could also do the vegetarian or meat sampler, but we refrained from doing so as we wanted a nice combination of both.
We ordered the Doro Tibs (Chicken) which was basically small pieces of meat in a delicious marinade. We also got the Doro Wot (chicken) with cook with a slightly hot sauce and this was clearly the winner. It came with an egg and a chicken drumstick and the sauce tasted heavenly. From combination of vegetarian sides we ordered, I liked the Misir Wot which is made from split lentils, the best. The Shiro Wot made from ground chickpeas was also delectable.
Overall loved the food, the service and the concept of eating with hands here. Will totally come back here soon for a meal!
